But if you would at any time wish to change the sound characteristics of the Apollon Purifi 1ET9040BA dual mono amplifier you can do so with simply exchanging the op amp (so called Op amp rolling). Our custom input buffer board comes with a DIP8 socket that enables you to attach a wide range of DIP8 compatible operational amplifiers on the market.

SPEAKER OUTPUT CONNECTION
By default we use custom built Apollon Pure OFC Copper Binding Posts that are internally connected to the amplifier with Pure OCC 12AWG Copper Output Wire and soldered with silver solder. They accept banana plugs, spades and bare wire. There is also an option of opting for industry standard Neutrik NL-2 Speakon connectors.

The best amp I have had to date. As I don’t use a sub I need my amp to have full control over the bass on my speakers and this one finally does it! Also it is very well equipped for a power amp with adjustable gain settings being the most important one. Thank you, Tibor!

I run three amps in my system. An Allnic Audio T2000 tube amp, a Kinki EX M1 solid state, and now my new Apollon Dual mono 9040, fed from either a Topping Pre 90 or a heavily modded Musical Paradise MP 701 mk3.
The Apollon build quality is outstanding and easily stands with my other amps. Sound quality is characterised by detail, clarity and an effortlessness which is remarkable. Bass is excellent. Mid range is superb and sounds natural. On certain recordings treble can be very occasionally a bit too bright for my taste with the Topping. This resolves completely with the tube pre.
This was a bit of a gamble on my part, as I have only had cheap Class D amps before, but I am delighted with my purchase. It is in all respects a true high end amp.

My home audio system consists of a Gustard U18 DDC, Gustard R26 R‑2R DAC, Schiit Freya+F preamp, and Magnepan LRS loudspeakers, all running fully balanced. The Apollon Audio Purifi 1ET9040BA DM Dual Mono Stereo Amplifier (I opted for the Gold Anodized cover) shows a solid build quality: a rigid chassis, clean machining, secure connectors with no mechanical play, an orderly internal layout, dual‑mono power supplies, and predictable thermal behavior during operation. My audio sources come from my PC via USB.
My Apollon amplifier is based on the Purifi 1ET9040BA modules, which measures with approximately 0.00017% THD+N at 100 W into 4 ohms, a signal‑to‑noise ratio around 131 dB (A‑weighted), output power of 450 W into 4 ohms and 250 W into 8 ohms, very low output impedance in the milliohm range, crosstalk typically above 110 dB, and a flat frequency response across the audible band. It remains efficient, runs cool, and is stable into low‑impedance loads down to 2 ohms. The Apollon implementation uses dual‑mono SMPS units and a balanced instrumentation input stage, supporting low idle noise and consistent operating behavior. Idle power consumption is 22 to 26 watts when there is no signal. I leave mine powered on 24/7.
In my system, these measured characteristics translate into audible performance that is clean, stable, and free of tonal shifts. The LRS are driven with firm control, especially in the lower frequencies, and the system remains silent at idle with no added noise. Imaging stays consistent and well‑defined, and the amplifier maintains linear behavior at all listening levels. The audible results align directly with the module’s measured linearity, low distortion, high damping factor, and strong channel separation.
Based on direct use in my system and comparison with the other high end digital amplifiers I have owned, this is currently the best digital amplifier I have heard or used.
