Our custom input buffer board by default comes with the very advanced OPA 1656 operational amplifiers. But if you would at any time wish to change the sound characteristics of the Apollon amplifier you can do so by simply exchanging the op amp (so called Op amp rolling). Our custom input buffer board comes with a DIP8 socket that enables you to attach a wide range of DIP8 compatible operational amplifiers on the market.

I am really satisfied with my new Apollon amplifier. The build quality is top-notch – truly high-end piece of equipment. I especially appreciate the flexibility Apollon offers; they were able to customize my unit from a Dual Mono to a Triple Mono configuration to perfectly suit my needs.

Sonically, the amplifier is incredible. It drives my Paradigm Persona speakers with authority, providing absolute transparency and a dead-silent background (once the gain structure was dialed in).

The only minor trade-off with the custom Triple Mono upgrade was that the trigger function for the center channel could not be implemented due to the internal layout changes. However, given the overall performance and the bespoke nature of the product, it is a small price to pay.
